Day 1
London Arrival & The Royal Walk

Our adventure began with a smooth flight landing at 1:00 PM. We jumped straight into the local life by taking the Subway (The Tube) for the first time—the kids loved the adventure underground!

  • Home Base: We checked into the Millennium Hotel, which was so easy to access.

  • Sun & Sights: The weather was beautiful, so we headed straight to the center. We saw it all: Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey.

  • The Thames & The Carousel: We walked across the bridge and along the river. To finish the afternoon, the kids had a magical turn on the carousel (un petit tour de manège!).

  • Dinner: On the way back, we had a fantastic Italian meal (thanks to Costas’ recommendation!) before a very long, well-deserved sleep.

This restaurant was in the "Want to Go" list from Costas' brother. Excellent selection and fanstastic product. Special mention to the butter with Bone marrow butter melting like a candle

Walk in the footsteps of Harry Potter and explore the wonders of the wizarding world

The average visit to the Studio Tour lasts approximately three and a half hours, although there is no limit imposed on your time at the attraction, during our opening hours.

  • Sightseeing: After a long breakfast, we took the Hop-On Hop-Off bus to see the city from above.

  • The “Posh” Stop: We enjoyed a beautiful Tea Time stop near Russell Square.

  • The Mission: We met the bus at Russell Gardens for the Warner Bros. Studio Tour. Seeing the “making of” Harry Potter was the highlight Zoe had been dreaming of!

  • Zoe finally got her hands on a Butterbeer.

Day 3
The Hogwarts Express (LNER Style) Transfer to Edinburgh

Transport: LNER First Class (Azuma Train)

Why First Class is Best for a Family of 8:

  • Dining Included: Complimentary hot meals, snacks, and drinks (hot, cold, and alcoholic) are served at your seat. For a large family, this saves a fortune on station snacks!
  • Space & Comfort: Reclining leather seats, extra legroom, and large tables that allow the family to sit together (usually in two sets of four across the aisle).
  • Lounge Access: Start the trip stress-free at the First Class Lounge in King’s Cross, which offers free refreshments and a quiet space away from the station crowds.
  • The View: Sitting on the right-hand side of the train provides the best “window seat” views of the North Sea coastline as you cross the border into Scotland.

Pro Tip for the Blog: If you are traveling with children, the “Azuma” trains have power sockets at every seat and the fastest Wi-Fi on the network—essential for keeping eight people entertained for four hours!

Day 4
Edinburgh: Our small palace in York place

Accomodation Edinburgh with Airbnb. 9min on foot from the train station

Day 5
Postcards, Bagpipes, and Haggis

Our last full day was the “Perfect Postcard.”

  • The Playground with a View: We spent the morning at Princes Street Gardens. Picture this: sunny skies, parents with coffee, kids playing, and the Edinburgh Castle towering above us while bagpipes played in the distance.

  • The Food Tour: We tried it all! Fish & Chips, Steak Pie, and the famous Haggis (which we actually loved!).
